Is D P Skip Hire a registered waste carrier?

D P Skip Hire Ltd is a fully registered upper tier waste carrier dealer. This means that we can transport other people’s waste, carry construction and demolition waste, and arrange for waste from other businesses’ to be transported, recovered or disposed of.

You can verify our registration by searching our company name on the Public Register of Waste Carriers, Brokers and Dealers. You can also check our certificates, registrations and accreditations on our Certificates page.

What happens to my waste?

At D P Skip Hire Ltd, we go to great lengths to ensure all waste we receive is processed responsibly and sustainably. Where possible we recycle as much of your waste as we can and will avoid sending waste to landfill wherever we can as part of our Zero Waste To Landfill initiative.
What can I put in a skip?

The majority of non-hazardous waste can be put in a skip. For example, furniture, bricks, rubble, metal, wood, tiles, cardboard, green waste and packaging can be disposed of in a skip. Materials such as plasterboard and carpets can also be disposed of in our skips with a surcharge.

If you are unsure if the type of waste your business is generating is suitable for a skip, please contact us and we would be happy to advise on the best course of action.
What can’t I put in the skip?

Any type of hazardous waste is not permitted in our skips. This includes clinical waste, flammable substances, chemicals, tyres, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, and electrical equipment. For a full list of permitted items, please visit our page What Can You Put In A Skip?

While asbestos cannot be disposed of in our regular skips, we do offer asbestos disposal services in Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire to support with the safe removal of materials containing asbestos.
Do I need a permit to hire a skip?

Skip permits are required if you need to place the skip on public property. At D P Skip Hire, we will arrange a skip permit on your behalf and ensure the skip is positioned correctly and with the necessary equipment to meet health and safety regulations.
How long can I keep the skip for?

When you hire a skip online from us, the standard hire time is 2 weeks. We understand that commercial projects can take significantly longer than domestic ones, therefore if you would like to hire a skip for longer than 14 days please contact us directly to arrange this.
How do I arrange for the skip to be emptied?

If you hire a skip online, you decide both the delivery and collection date in advance. Should you need to keep a skip for longer, or require collection sooner than stipulated, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
What skip sizes are suitable for commercial waste?

The type and size of skip you’ll need for your commercial waste depends entirely on the job, the type of waste and the location of your skip. We offer skips in all sizes and configurations, from mini skips to 40-yard roll on roll off skips. We also have a selection of drop door and lockable skips, which are popular for commercial projects.

What happens if I can’t get a skip permit?

In the rare event that you are unable to secure a skip permit, we offer a wait and load service for your convenience.

Complete and utter waste of time. Called on the supposed day of delivery at 10am as skip had not yet arrived, nor had I had any communication since booking online. Each person I spoke to simply didn't have a clue as to what was going on, didn't have my name, address or number, couldn't find my booking (despite taking payment) and that I'd have to wait for the Transport Manager after making 3 calls. I'd booked the skip days in advance and booked a day off work to complete a project. Finally after 3 calls, they'd located said skip but couldn't give me a time of delivery, stating "some time in the afternoon". I duly cancelled, called around other businesses and had a skip delivered within the hour. Won't be using again.

I booked a skip on a Sunday for next-day delivery which was a bank holiday. I received an email from Jon immediately after booking letting me know that it might be a couple of days later owing to the impact of Covid-19 which was totally understandable. The skip still arrived on the bank holiday which was hugely appreciated and we're awaiting collection now. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again, excellent service.

07.01 and the skip truck comes up the street on a weekend, no consideration from the driver whilst loading revving the old diesel truck unnecessarily high waking literally everybody up in the street... Might of taken the driver and extra minute or two without the revs being so high, but no if he's up were all up!

Used them a few times now:Skips: Dropped off an hour after booking late on a Friday. Picked up first thing Monday morning. Their top soil is a BARGAIN! And extremely good quality. Aggregates:- slightly pricier than others, but with the free delivery, even on a single bag, this makes up for it and is probably why. (Others want 15quid to deliver)All in all, I personally can't really fault them!
